Does TaskDwell handle Schedule E tax categorization?
Yes, on the Investor plan. Every completed maintenance item is auto-categorized (repair, improvement, or capital expense) with cost tracking per property. At tax time, export a CSV ready for your CPA or tax software — no reconstruction project. Homeowner plan gets personal-home tax categories (home office, energy credits, cost basis) on the same mechanics.
How does TaskDwell compare to Stessa or landlord finance tools?
We complement financial tools like Stessa rather than replace them. Stessa handles rent collection, bookkeeping, and portfolio P&L. TaskDwell handles the physical-property side — what's wearing down, what's expensive to defer, what to categorize for taxes. Many small landlords use both. Our tax CSV exports drop cleanly into Stessa's records.
How does cost tracking work across properties?
Every completed signal captures the actual cost you spent, attributed to the specific property. You see per-property spend over any period, cost patterns by category (HVAC, plumbing, exterior), and cost-of-inaction estimates for items you're deferring. Investor plan includes a CSV export grouped by property and Schedule E category.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No contracts or commitments. Cancel from your account settings at any time — you keep access until the end of your current billing period, then drop to the free Starter tier. Your data stays with you.
Is my data secure?

Where TaskDwell came from
TaskDwell started in my own home. I'm a homeowner in Atlanta, and I built this because I was tired of discovering expensive problems too late.
But as I showed it to my father, who has been a small landlord for over 30 years, and to friends who operate rental and Airbnb properties, something became clear. The problem small landlords face is the same problem homeowners face, just multiplied by every property they own and every tenant they serve.
Deferred maintenance erodes asset value quietly. Tax season becomes a reconstruction project. A missed signal on one property can cost more than a year of profit.
